Pretty & Nice, Feel It Robot and Tony Smokes and the Ladykillers

The only thing better than a great concert is a great concert that is 100 percent free. On April 4, the University of Maine's radio station, WMEB 91.9 FM, will be hosting a free concert for all ages at the Keith Anderson Community House in Orono.

While the headlining band is Boston's Pretty & Nice, the Maine attraction for me is Feel It Robot. A band out of Bangor, Feel It Robot also performed at WMEB's Halloween show last October. All of the students lucky enough to attend agreed that Robot's sets are a spectacle to behold. In a Maine Campus article titled "Local 'bot' band rocks pants off listener," student Alec Richardson said "The Halloween [show] was just amazing." Basically, if they do not make you dance, you are dead inside.

The show is Friday, April 4 at the Keith Anderson Community House, 19 Bennoch Road, Orono. Doors open at 8:30 p.m., Tony Smokes and the Ladykillers go on at 9:00 p.m.

About me

I think that in order to really enjoy a blog, you should first know a bit about the blogger. In this instance, the blogger is me: Kaley. I'm a second-year journalism major. I watch too much TV, talk too much about pop culture and spent my spare time absorbing as much information as possible. If you couldn't guess, I want to be a style reporter.

I work as both copy editor and staff reporter for the Maine Campus. One of the many things we focus on is local bands and musicians, so I'm always learning about someone new to listen to. Through this blog, I plan to pass on info about local music and upcoming events that will interest anyone with an open mind -- or ear.

Stay tuned and I will post links to some cool bands around the area, and --hopefully-- information about upcoming shows.
